Sweet Tooth

I set out to create Sweet Tooth, a self-initiated dessert recipe booklet that combined my interests in design, photography, food styling, and publication layout. My goal was to develop a cohesive, visually engaging 30-page booklet featuring eight personal dessert recipes, complete with clear instructions, original photography, and polished editorial design.

Sweet Tooth functions as both a portfolio-ready publication and a fully usable recipe collection, demonstrating my ability to manage a multi-stage creative workflow—from writing and art direction to production and layout.

I began by consolidating and refining each recipe into a manuscript, revising the directions for clarity and consistency. I then baked each dessert, documenting the process and final results with step-by-step photography. After editing and color-balancing the images in Adobe Lightroom, I brought all content into Adobe InDesign and developed the layout using considered typography, grid systems, and visual hierarchy. For the cover, I created a pattern using the final plated desserts to introduce the playful tone of the booklet and establish a recognizable motif.

The final booklet presents a cohesive blend of design, photography, and storytelling, showcasing each recipe with visual clarity and inviting warmth. The finished piece feels personal, polished, and accessible to both new and experienced bakers.
